Honest

I didn't walk tonight or cross train -- will make up for it tomorrow...

Training Update

Week 1: Walked 15 miles
Week 2: sick & managed to walk none
Beginning of Week 3: have walked 5 miles, still more to come

Feeling good but feeling guilty for taking time off when I was sick, but I'll get over it. Reese is worn out too.

I have noticed that the past week when I wasn't walking & was sick, I didn't sleep as well, pretty restless actually. I know there is a connection between the walking & the type of sleep I'm getting at night.

Sidenote: only 2 days left of school & we close on the house on June 29!!!

I'm It!

I've been tagged!

What is tagging you might ask. Well, it is a sort of 'get to know you' game that bloggers play.

Now on to theRules:
• Start with 7 random facts/habits about yourself
• People who are tagged have to write their 7 things on their blog
• Then choose another 7 people to get tagged and list their names
• Don’t forget to leave them a comment to tell them they have been tagged and to read your blog

Here are 7 "Random" things about myself:
  1. I hate to dust -- I sneeze and sneeze and sneeze.
  2. I am just like my mother in that I like to start things & not finish them. I'm trying to break that habit. That being said I need to pick up my crocheting again.
  3. I love crossword puzzles. Everyday before the kids come into my room, I print off the 2 crosswords from the local paper & complete them over the course of the day.
  4. Over the course of the last 3 years (since I started grad school), I have hardly been able to read a book. This is very disturbing to me considering I love to read; my mind just seems to not be able to focus. This is yet another thing I'm actively trying to fix.
  5. I'm absolutely ecstatic that Big Daddy & I are inheriting a riding lawn mower. I have certain small simple desires in my life & for some odd reason I have ALWAYS wanted a riding lawn mower. I'm totally excited about cruising around my own lawn on my riding lawn mower. Simple pleasures.
  6. I miss rock climbing. I need to start again -- hell, that can be my cross training!!!!!
  7. Big Daddy & I already have our baby names figured out even though we are not planning on having children ANY time soon. It was just a random conversation that ended with 2 great names -- we're strange, we know.
I'm pathetic & have no one to tag because they have all been tagged already. Nonetheless, I'm still at least doing this.

Training Update

I just got done with my 5 mile training walk for the week. I've been doing pretty good -- no blisters, no soreness, but today it all changed. About 3/4 of the way through the walk I got hot spots between my last 3 toes on my right foot. What do I do about the hot spots? I still have a 3 mile walk tomorrow & I'm not going to not do it because of my sore feet.
Any words of wisdom out there??

I will admit that I didn't cross train yesterday -- but today I had some extracurricular activity with Reese in the Reedy River. Jogged a little & walked in the water for a good distance -- that was extra work...hahaha.

Otherwise, training is good -- if only I could raise money!!!

A Downtown Stroll

Brad & I met with the mortgage lady yesterday at Wachovia. Things are looking really good for us -- 5.5% 30 Year Fixed Rate. It's a good thing to be a 1st time home-buyer & a teacher in Greenville County.

So we decided to walk around downtown & get some dinner. I was supposed to do a training walk but the stroll around downtown ended up being that. It was a little more than a mile -- less than I was supposed to do, but hey at least I walked!!

I'm giving out the newsletter at work in the next couple of days. I'm going to add a personal note from me, about me for the people at school. Turns out a couple of the ladies I'm close with had their mothers die from breast cancer, I work with a breast cancer survivor, & "Eoute"'s (the only male teacher in the 8th grade) sister is battling breast cancer for the 2nd time. They are very supportive and wonderful about the 3-Day...it's sparked my motivation.

Let the Training Begin

So I started the year off right & then my laziness kicked back into play. I figured out that Hallie inherited the "active-endorphin" gene from Dad & I did not. But no matter, I have to get motivated & get off my lazy ass.

That being said, TODAY, May 7, 2007, was my first official day of training for the 3-Day. The Bouncing Buddies have a little over 5 months to get money raised & our butts (& feet) conditioned to walk the walk. I'm stoked about the whole thing.

After Brad left to head to his last final of the semester, Reese & I headed out the apartment & walked our 2.5mile route. It feels good to get up & walk again; I really enjoy it. It's a good way to deflate after a day at work. Reese is now passed out next to me & I am energized. I started my 3-Day Journal of all my miles walked, etc. I like the idea of keeping tabs on myself -- I need accountability measures in my life.
